A non-profit with over 100 employees and sites spread throughout South-central Alaska was faced with aging hardware and significant staff frustration over the stability, speed, and serviceability of their IT infrastructure.
Case Details
The organization, under new leadership, needed a strategic partner capable of helping them navigate transitioning to new hardware as well as putting in place a support program to ensure that the impact of deferred maintenance was not felt by staff again.
Deeptree was selected by the organization to assist with this transition and place the technology used by the staff on a firmer footing. Senior engineers worked with executive staff to identify hardware in need of replacement. The criteria for these replacements was not just the age and resource requirements for the hardware but also the service profile of the programs the hardware would be supporting. Part of this effort was to deliver the necessary documentation to support a grant process funding hardware replacements. Deeptree worked with client staff to deliver the necessary documentation as part of the cost justification exercise.
As the project moved into being fully funded, Deeptree worked to align and prioritize hardware replacements to meet the most critical program needs first in an expanding effort. By aligning hardware with the organization’s mission priorities, the client was able to make sure that return on value for their clients and stakeholders was actualized. And, as the executive director noted, « IT » was no longer a curse word but just another component of the engine the organization used to meet their mission and support Alaskans – some of them experiencing one of the worst days of their lives.
